Dr. Gowreeson was invited to attend and deliver 3 lectures at the 7th Congress Joint Meeting of the Asia Pacific Trauma Society and Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Foot & Ankle section in Bangkok from the date 20th – 22nd of September 2019. The congress was very well attended by trainee surgeons and accomplished orthopaedic surgeons from the Asia Pacific region. Dr Gowreeson shared his expertise on the latest management of forefoot sports injuries and how to tackle nonunions after surgery. The meeting was an excellent platform to share and brainstorm on the latest and best practices both in foot an ankle as well as trauma & fracture surgery.

Dr Gowreeson delivered a virtual lecture on the current understanding and most recent diagnostic tips & tricks in ankle syndesmotic injuries. This regional virtual meeting was attended by orthopaedic surgeons from across the Asia Pacific region as well as beyond.

Dr Gowreeson was Co-chair for this Inaugural Knee Specialty Meeting in Bahrain, 4th -5th of November 2022
Aside delivering a series of lectures, he steered discussions surrounding the commonest knee sports injuries and their latest management, including cruciate ligaments, posterolateral corner injuries and the recent advances in meniscal repair. Alongside 20 other world renowned faculty, the meeting was well attended by orthopaedic surgeons across the Gulf region and globally through a virtually interactive platform.

The evidence-base for scaffhold resurfacing, mechanical re-alignment and ligament reconstructions in the setting of ankle-talus osteochondral defects were all discussed

Dr. Gowreeson was invited to co-chair a Minimally Invasive Orthopaedic Surgery Workshop in Cairns, Australia between 9th -11th of April 2025. The topics discussed and demonstrated included keyhole bunion correction, keyhole ankle ligament reconstruction and flatfoot reconstruction. Dr. Gowreeson also chaired debates where the relative merits of open versus keyhole surgeries were presented at the Congress.
