The SICOT-COFAS Foot and Ankle meeting in Suzhou, China from the 9th-10th August 2019 meeting was the first ever collaborative meeting between SICOT Foot & Ankle and any international foot and ankle society. The meeting was Co-Chaired by Dr. Gowreeson in his capacity as the SICOT Foot & Ankle Chairman. The meeting attracted over 1000 delegates and boasted invited key-opinion leaders from the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society, The Japanese Foot & Ankle Society and the Swiss Foot & Ankle Society. It was an excellent platform to share and learn the most recent advances in orthopaedic practice in the region. Dr. Gowreson delivered one of the key note lectures as well as a couple of instructional lectures.
SICOT 40 th Orthopaedic World Congress, Oman 2019
The SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress is the largest truly international orthopaedic annual scientific meeting in current times. The conference 2019 this year, in Muscat, Oman, was no different , with over 2500 delegates and 350 faculty participating in this 3-day meeting. Dr. Gowreeson chaired the Foot & Ankle symposia entitiled ‘The Commonest Foot & Ankle Surgeries : This is How I do it”. The feedback was overwhelming and plans have been made to orchestrate a sports foot and ankle symposium with the European Sports Surgery and Arthroscopy Association next year, in Budapest. Dr Gowreeson also took over the helm of Scientific Programme Chair for SICOT and will be responsible for delivering the scientific programme for the next 3 years. (2020-2022). Looking forward to the challenge !

- Dr Gowreeson chaired a 90 min webinar that focused on career ending injuries amongst sportspersons. World sports injuries expert participated in this discussion and shared how these difficult injuries are managed optimally in different parts of the world

SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress, 15th – 18th of September 2021
As the 2021 SICOT OWC Scientific Program Chair, it was both an honour & privilege to be entrusted the responsibility of delivering the scientific program for the 1stever hybrid SICOT scientific meeting, from the 15th– 18thof September 2021. Attended by over 1800 orthopaedic surgeon-delegates from over 60 nations, the meeting was a tremendous success by all accounts. It created and showcased a successful prototype of how future hybrid orthopaedic meetings could be run in the post-COVID era. I am thankful to all who contributed to making this meeting a success.
SICOT 42nd Orthopaedic World Congress, 28th – 30th September 2022
As Education Academy Chair, Dr Gowreeson helped orchestrate the scientific programme for this international orthopaedic conference, attended by over 1600 international orthopaedic surgeons. Dr Gowreeson also delivered 5 lectures, ranging from research and publications to recent trends in the management of Charcot Neuroarthropathy
SICOT Bahrain Middle Eastern Knee Sports Meeting (4th-5th November 2022 )
Dr Gowreeson was one of the Organizing Chairs of this inaugural meeting held in Bahrain that witnessed the coming together of over 25 international knee key opinion leaders. The meeting discussed and debated several key controversial areas in the management of sports knee pathologies, such as meniscal problems, ACL and cartilage regeneration.

Dr Gowreeson was keynote speaker and moderator. He delivered a lecture on new pedagogy for virtual postgraduate orthopaedic learning and a lecture on ankle fusion and its recent advancements
